Assessora Estrat\u00e9gica em Planejamento Espacial - Programa das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas para o Desenvolvimento (PNUD)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nAnnie manages and provides scientific, technical, and communications expertise to a range of projects focused on conservation, local sustainable development, and spatial planning. She co-leads the development and implementation of UNDP’s work to map essential life support areas for nature, climate change, and sustainable development. Working in English and Spanish, Annie is responsible for liaising with a diverse team of scientists, policymakers, and implementing partners across her portfolio to facilitate delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals. She has worked with the Global Programme on Nature for Development since 2015.<\/p>\n

Annie tem uma forma\u00e7\u00e3o em Etnobot\u00e2nica, Ci\u00eancia da Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e Comunica\u00e7\u00f5es. Ela se inspira por conectar ci\u00eancia e pol\u00edtica para desenvolver abordagens hol\u00edsticas para a conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da natureza e o desenvolvimento sustent\u00e1vel. \u00c9 formada em Biologia e Mudan\u00e7as Sociais Locais e Globais pela Macalester College e tem um Mestrado em Biologia pelo Centro de P\u00f3s-Gradua\u00e7\u00e3o CUNY e pelo Jardim Bot\u00e2nico de Nova York. Seu trabalho de p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o reuniu fitoqu\u00edmica, gen\u00e9tica e etnobot\u00e2nica para estudar o uso comunit\u00e1rio e o manejo de mirtilos neotropicais (queremes) na Col\u00f4mbia. Antes do PNUD, ela trabalhou com organiza\u00e7\u00f5es como o Instituto Berkana, a Academia Americana de Artes e Ci\u00eancias e a Iniciativa de Pessoas e Plantas, explorando as conex\u00f5es entre conhecimento tradicional, conhecimento cient\u00edfico e ativismo de base para criar mudan\u00e7as sociais.<\/p>\n

She coordinates the ELSA science team, and has played a critical role in the development of the project from a single pilot country to over a dozen use cases, with the potential to scale to 100 more.\u00a0<\/p>\n
