Restoring degraded ecosystems can result in cumulative biodiversity, climate, and livelihood benefits, making people and nature more resilient. This collection explores opportunities to restore ecosystems for the benefit of nature and people.\n\t\n<h2>Sobre esta recolha de dados\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>As actividades humanas no Planeta Terra levaram \u00e0 degrada\u00e7\u00e3o dos ecossistemas naturais: estima-se que apenas 10% da superf\u00edcie do planeta permanecer\u00e1 livre do impacto antropog\u00e9nico directo at\u00e9 2050. A degrada\u00e7\u00e3o dos solos resulta na perda da biodiversidade e das fun\u00e7\u00f5es dos ecossistemas, o que torna as comunidades mais vulner\u00e1veis aos impactos das altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas e \u00e0s press\u00f5es socioecon\u00f3micas. As Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas reconheceram a necessidade urgente de inverter os processos de degrada\u00e7\u00e3o generalizada, declarando a D\u00e9cada das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas para a Restaura\u00e7\u00e3o dos Ecossistemas. As actividades de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00eam o potencial de gerar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.decadeonrestoration.org\/what-ecosystem-restoration?hl=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">9 bili\u00f5es de d\u00f3lares em servi\u00e7os ecossist\u00e9micos e de remover da atmosfera entre 13 e 26 gigatoneladas de gases com efeito de estufa at\u00e9 2030<\/a>.\u00a0 A recupera\u00e7\u00e3o dos ecossistemas de um estado degradado pode resultar em benef\u00edcios cumulativos em termos de biodiversidade, clima e meios de subsist\u00eancia, tornando as pessoas e a natureza mais resistentes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As causas da degrada\u00e7\u00e3o e os objectivos da recupera\u00e7\u00e3o dos ecossistemas s\u00e3o v\u00e1rios, pelo que a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o pode tamb\u00e9m assumir muitas formas, desde a <a href=\"https:\/\/life-peat-restore.eu\/en\/project\/poland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">re-humidifica\u00e7\u00e3o de turfeiras drenadas<\/a> at\u00e9 \u00e0 planta\u00e7\u00e3o de mangais em deltas de rios em pa\u00edses tropicais. A restaura\u00e7\u00e3o pode ser classificada em <a href=\"https:\/\/wedocs.unep.org\/bitstream\/handle\/20.500.11822\/36251\/ERPNC.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tr\u00eas tipos distintos<\/a>. Um visa restaurar ecossistemas naturais degradados para um estado mais intacto, por exemplo atrav\u00e9s da regenera\u00e7\u00e3o natural. O segundo centra-se no restabelecimento das fun\u00e7\u00f5es ecosist\u00e9micas em ecossistemas convertidos, por exemplo, alterando as pr\u00e1ticas agr\u00edcolas para restaurar a sa\u00fade e a fertilidade dos solos.
